This Momentous Day
Well, back to school then! This week has been long in some ways and short in others.
I'm sorry for not posting at all this week but I was trying to squeeze in DotA with homework and TV. That's about all the time I had besides getting barely enough sleep.
The past four days were pretty okay. I paid attention to most of the lessons. Was only five minutes late for math one day. Civics laoshi said something about it being better that you like coming to school than dreading it which was kind of true. My new bio teacher seems a bit fascist in the way she wants to control our seating arrangement and ensure a climate of fear to deter students from doing homework but she seems to know her stuff so good lor.
Cheapskate was about to go home, because he was saying how (orientation-is-a-waste-of-time-and-I-can-go-home-to-eat-curry-chicken-instant-noodles) but surprisingly, Tamaleh begged him for five minutes to stay and he did o.o". And he had dinner with us outside too. And the chinese high pervert in my class whom we've been trying to get to do pullups and exercise in general so that he doesn't have to go spend his december holidays in Tekong said that he wanted to do pullups all of a sudden during Chess club training. WTF. Shocking indeed.
I've decided that I should do as the Energizer bunny does for P.E. and keep running and running and running.
The J1s seemed to be having fun for their orientation. The contrast was quite obvious between the first day and the fourth. At the start, they sat in the hall in separate clusters of boys and girls, as expected behaviour from elitist single-sex school students. Yesterday when I went to watch their O-night for a bit, they mixed out already.
Their O-night was a pretty typical thing with performances and all, but I didn't like the performances much. All the jokes they splashed around were too dry, in the (I'm-acting-stupid-to-make-you-laugh-and-you'd-better-know-that-I-know-it) kind of way. There was this hovering aura of inhibition and faux sophistication around. Erks. I gave up watching after the first house skit and went for dinner with tamaleh and some of my classmates. The rain was nice. I really wished I had my camera with me this week, just when I'd given up carrying it to school because of the weight.
This post is kind of messy.
