Tapestry of Death

This spider spun its web among some plants in the park. I wanted to take a random shot of the sunlight on the plants and noticed it. Tried to twiddle with it to highlight the shimmer in the web. This is a pic of the small multifaceted prism thing that they stick all over MRT stations for dunnowhat reason. It wasn't really visually attractive, so I tried inverting it and putting the colour back into the reflection of the people on the tracks. Interesting mirror. No matter how you look into it, you see your eye staring back. I wonder if anyone was alarmed at the way I took pictures in the station, what with terrorists and all.

ClimbOn yesterday. Was pretty fun really. I was happy to do a route and then touch a bonus tile. Then we went to see the SAF exhibit across the road where they had this pull-up challenge thing. I did sixteen; slightly below form. Apparently it wasn't enough to win anything 'cause they didn't call me in the evening. Some stupid gymnast or something must have come along grr. Went for lunch at Swensen's where I played a few thousand rounds of chess with Tamaleh before I left. Owned him a few times, before we left and went back to try this particular route again. Failed once, and queued up to try again, and yay! I earned me 240 points. The day's total for me was 660 points, which is average to pathetic but it doesn't matter. I went for the fun. Filled me chalkbag with the free chalk sponsored by the organizers. I probably won't need to buy chalk again for the next couple of years.

Today started off poor, continued on to bad (I steamed at one point) and ended off good, or sleepy. In the morning, the flag ceremony thing had to be modified spur-of-the-moment because it rained, and they hadn't rehearsed a wet-weather plan. Then two people came along to lecture me on the sorry state of my uniform, the unstarched collar, the non-mirror-shiny boots, blablablah. As if I wasn't nervous enough already. The friendly advice only added to breaking my concentration. Sorry for me deciding to enjoy my Sunday instead of sitting home polishing my boots for a couple of hours and scorching my uniform with starch. Sorry that I'm not a CLT and my uniform was meant to fit me four years ago and maybe it doesn't fit so well now. Maybe it looks ok to the 60+% majority of the school population who can't tell and the 39.9% of those who can tell who don't really give a damn about a two minute march up an aisle which leads to me standing at the very front of some crowd facing a wall and far away from the stage where everyone is looking. I would rather make sure I'm focused and not slip up rather than run to the toilet for the last five minutes and try to refold the stupid sleeves which would end up looking about the same anyway, so, don't tell me to do that. Have I just let down the whole of my NCC unit and the face of the NCC organization in Singapore? Maybe. Do I care? um. not really.

*sizzle* *sizzle* Throws some magnesium carbonate chalk on screen to neutralize dripping acid. *hissss*

P.S. It's always a bad idea to irritate me after I have just been given a pulpy piece of what looks like paper soaked in a puddle that's supposed to be my Physics remedial notes. Especially by throwing the herefore mentioned soggy piece of paper onto my bag. Don't be surprised if I start breathing fire.

Okay. Maybe a good uniform is a mark of a good soldier. Just that at the moment, it's not my top priority. I'm not really sorry that I got p1$$ed off with the good friends who just got on my nerves today because honestly, you could have been more considerate. But I'm not angry any more. It's over and done with.

Later in the morning, we had some bouldering at the tiny rented wall. One of the ODAC people I got to know at Pumpfest told me that they had this hard yellow route that I could try. And I did it. hah ^_^. Then we played some shooting games in the gym room / mini arcade. And tamaleh, a hongkonger and I went to J8 and spent an hour or so drooling over the notebooks, playing chess over lunch and then we went home.

I am so sleepy.
