Frosty.

Well, just to sum up the week, here are some photos of the Material Science Workshop I went for. Those metal bars are really strong magnets. The gloves are thermally-insulated for handling liquid nitrogen.

We were going to make superconducting pellets that repelled magnets when cooled to a really low temperature with liquid nitrogen.

This was the machine to press powder into pellets.

15 tons. Wah lau.

And tadah! The pellets were pre-made for us as the real stuff takes 48 hours to make, and we didn't have that long. They levitate above the magnets.

Well, I just did some blog-surfing and stuff and found out that Marissa Boon (ahahahaha the name) plays DotA. Oh my goodness. I can just imagine her chao-ah-lianing at Cineleisure shouting insults across the LAN shop. Rofl.

And also, I chanced upon the Teejay forums again and found that the climbing club had a new blog. http://ropeburnt.blogspot.com/. It brought back all the nostalgia and emo stuff. Chatting about climbing, having dinner with friends at the hawker centre opposite Teejay, the ties and fun during the overseas trip. Now they've all gotten really good at their sport already, far surpassing my noobish standard, and go for trips to Thailand and Malaysia to climb and eat and have good times. I'm envious of the fun and friendship with all the competition camaraderie.

Maybe that's why I didn't really make an effort to join the arrjay ohdack or other cca stuff. They seem relatively lacklustre and superficial compared to what I stepped away from and I don't, I can't seem to accept something that seems so distinctly substandard to me, regardless of what anyone else thinks. That's why I'm in chess which I'm not even good at, because I have friends in it. That's why I now prioritize tuition stuff before cca stuff, to remind myself to keep to the path that I paid the price for.

It's too late for regrets now though. I've decided on the fork in my road. I keep thinking, however. In wanting to prove to myself that I can be a part of the elite, no matter how small, have I sold off a part of my soul?

I suppose this is one of the things that will haunt me and keep me questioning myself all my life, which seems rather melodramatic as I haven't lived very long yet. At least I know that I didn't rush into the decision. I am sad though. Very sad.
