Twitching

The PE teacher let me fool around with the loudhailer to yell at a friend across the field today.

Oh man, the results are supposed to be out today but apparently 3.30pm in the afternoon is not enough of a today yet.

I had a really weird dream last night. Almost a nightmare, kind of.

Somehow I was in this air-conditioned foodcourt and there were a few huge fish-tanks at one end, with monstrous metre-long piranha-like fish in them. They had large teeth, but not the pointy sharp kind. More like large yellowed squarish teeth. Then there was a blue basin in front of the middle tank. In it was some stale liquid and a skull with pieces of flesh still stuck to it. There were uncles sitting in front of the whole setup betting. Apparently they would dump a young girl into the tank with the monstrous fish, armed with a small knife and they were placing bets as to which one would win. I said apparently, because I never actually visualized that part happening in the dream.

It was unusually vivid. I woke up at three a.m. and couldn't move for a while. There's a term for the medical condition where that happens, but I was just frozen with irrational terror. Then I scribbled down a five word summary of the dream and went back to sleep. Otherwise I would never have remembered it now.

I think the weird dream must have been a mishmash of what I was thinking or experiencing yesterday. The foodcourt was rather random, the skull was probably influenced by watching the first Pirates Of The Carribean movie on TV, the fish no idea, the teeth maybe something to do with that article about a donkey biting off part of a child's face in China, the betting maybe to do with the World Cup, the girl probably because I was reading this article in Readers Digest about netting paedophiles before I slept, and thinking about the Seventh Month Ghost thing on the way home yesterday must have been the inspiration for the whole gory theme of the dream.

Amateur psychoanalysis. Or maybe I'm going mad.
